My Journey? Where do I begin & Where do I end?… We are all walking in different stages in life and trying to figure out who we are and what our purpose in life is. As for myself, I’m on that Journey of finding and understanding my purpose through Christ. I want to seek Him and know Him, not about Him but to really know Him personally. I feel like my chapter of life has just begun, but for me to find my path and voice I need to first hear Gods. What are His plans for me, what does He want me to do? That’s what I mean by my journey…
During today’s church service at IHP Ministries, Bishop David preached about being a true servant of God, based on the bible verse John 10vs1-30. This really touched me and made me question myself. Am I a true servant? Is God My Shepard? Does He lead me through the paths of righteousness? [One of my favourite verses] Its so easy to talk about something but hard to practise what you preach.
Psalms 23 (Davids prayer), says ‘the Lord is my Shepard…’ Hang on! For Him to be your Shepard, you and I have to be His sheep. I know that sounds so crazy, your probably thinking why would anyone want to be a sheep? Lol not physically but to have the trades and characteristics of a sheep. God communicates to his people, His sheep hear His voice.
But what is a Shepard? A sephard is someone who takes care of sheep and moves them from on place to another. Wooow! So our Heavenly Father is our Shepard. He takes care of us and leads us through the paths of righteousness. He restores our soul, though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death we fear no evil for He is with us, He comforts us with His rod and staff, He prepares a table before us in the presence of our enemies, He anoints our head with oil and our cups? They run over! Ahhh, how sweet does that sound? So beloved ones I ask again, is God your Shepard?
If He is, then you and I are on the same page. But to be a sheep, Bishop David gave us tips on 4 characteristics of a good sheep:
1. Be humble.
2. Be obedient
3. LISTEN and not hear. Yes, there is a difference
As I go through this chapter in my journey, pray that I possess these characteristics and I pray in Jesus name that you do too. Let this word be planted deep within us and may it be our daily bread. As we go through this week may God lead us though the paths of righteousness and wherever we step our feet I decree and declare that we shall be blessed.
In Jesus name, Amen…
